Chris Terepin

Bass - Viola da Gamba

Chris.jpg

Chris has been performing with the group since 2018. After reading music at Magdalen College, Oxford, he completed his MMus in cello performance at the Royal Northern College of Music.

Equally at home on the modern cello, baroque cello, and viola da gamba, he performs with Florian String Quartet, the Fortescue Duo, Three Parts Vied, has appeared on numerous recordings, and performed as a guest with Phantasm and the Gildas Quartet.

Chris is currently working on a PhD at King’s College London, supervised by Prof. Daniel Leech-Wilkinson. His work explores how recordings from the early twentieth century can nuance thinking about ensemble performance, and specifically about string quartets.
